That moment when your grandchild is telling you he/she wants to be a YouTuber. Are you going to panic? Are you going to ask questions? Are you going to know what YouTube is all about? There are things you can prepare for, so it’s going to be easier to support your grandchild.

List of useful questions to ask your grandchild before they start YouTube channel:

  • Why do you want to start YouTube channel?
  • What are your favorite YouTube channels? and why they are your favorite?
  • What are YouTube channels you don’t like and why?
  • Ask your grandchild to write a plan: what they want to do? how do they want to achieve that? how much time do they need? do they have enough time? how about school? etc. Help them to create that plan
  • There are millions of creators on YouTube but just small group is making BIG money and are famous. What are you going to do in case of no fame?
  • Do you want to be famous or do you just want to have a YouTube channel and share your content there?

You, a grandparent or parent, should establish your role in your grandchild/child YouTube adventure. It might be confusing and overwhelming for your grandchild/child, but your help and support is important.
