Thanks Snapchat

That’s it! Are you on Snapchat? If so have you checked all the geofilters available near your location?

I’ve noticed that my home town (over 115k population) does not have a geofilters on Snapchat. What?! I know, right 🙂 so I decided to open Adobe Photoshop and create simple geofilters. Then I sent it to Snapchat for approval and guess what, few weeks later they sent me this…

The whole process of creating the geofilter was very simple.

  • first you go to Snapchat website and check the requirements
  • then you get the template
  • and then if you are not sure you can check YouTube for step-by-step tutorials
  • …and that’s it. You submit your geofilter and wait.

It was simple, and now every time I use this geofilter it makes me smile. But at the same time I ask myself a question: why there are not more geofilters for that location? It’s not that small city, different demographics live here, so what’s the problem? Are Snapchat users not interested in geofilters? Or maybe they like geofilters but they just don’t want to create those?
I’m not even going to start on geofilters on-demand. I see many of those all over the place but again, not that many (or rather none) in my area.

What’s going on my local fellow Snapchat users?
